About Integrated Roll Services
In 1955, journeyman machinist John A. Hiler Sr. discovered a niche restoring diesel engine camshafts to their original factory specifications. Over the last 52 years, Ohio Camshaft's capabilities have expanded dramatically to include original equipment manufacture, repair of components for diverse markets, and work roll specialists.
In 1982, Ohio Camshaft, Inc. renovated a chrome plating facility located in the Firestone Complex in Akron. This facility was purchased specifically for chrome plating work rolls for area steel mills. Throughout the years the Akron facility has continued to grow rapidly, with two additions since 1992. With the expansion of the Akron facility, our operations capabilities include roll grinding, Electro Discharge Texturing, and chrome plating technologies.
In 1999, Ohio Camshaft, Inc. changed its two division's names; the Twinsburg manufacturing plant name to OC Industries and the Akron Cold Mill Work Roll Processing Plant to Integrated Roll Services. These name changes were done to better identify with each respective industrial market.
Our Fully integrated facility offers precision roll grinding, with complete crowning capabilities, Pro-Mic charting, ultrasonic and eddy current inspection, Electro Discharge Texturing creating engineered roll surfaces with optimum peak and creator shapes, and Chrome Plating which is proven to exhibit longer surface lifetimes on work rolls. Full technical support is always available.
